Mess

Currently going on in my kitchen: electric skillet frying ground turkey, two skillets frying hamburger meat, a pot boiling chicken, pork chops baking in the stove, and fish waiting to go on the grill. Am I incredibly hungry? No, but, when I went to get the roast for the crock pot out of the freezer I thought, hmmm, this doesnt feel solid. Lots of things didn't feel solid...ugh freezer had quit working. Yuck yuck yuck. Lost several things, and am cooking off what I could. There were actually some things just starting to thaw so we caught it before it was even worse so that is something to be thankful for.

Hubby called a repairman and he said to wash out the coils, so did that and it is now drying, then will plug it in and try again. Better go tend to my meat fest cooking in the kitchen.

Evidently the issue is the freezer is an older model (96). These particular models when built was built for a older type of freon. Then the new freon came on the scene. The coils cannot handle the new type of freon and create sludge within the coils. Thus, removing any chance of repair.

Oh no! We had ours go out a few years back and I did the mad rush of cooking everything I could. We had to buy a new one. Bought a dud as it went out 3 weeks later. Third time was the charm for us though. I don't envy you and hope it's fixed once it's dried out.
