Overwhelmed

When we made the decision to homeschool it was not an easy decision to make. We weighed the pros and cons. In the end we felt it was the best decision for us and the kids.

I have been really excited about it, but now....

I am starting to get overwhelmed.

I had planned to start homeschool mid next week, and honestly I am not ready. We are doing the abeka dvd curriculium and I thought that would be easier set out for me, but still feeling the overwhelming of what I have taken on.

I am still excited, just having to tamper down this overwhelming feeling.

Hubby is taking kids to church tonight so I can have some time. I am looking forward to that, I think once I get started with it then all will fall into place, but untill then I promise to be a stressed out mess.

I'll second the overwhelming. I'm starting my third year homeschooling now and things are much easier. I still remember starting my first year. That stack of books and manuals. Aughh! There a pleasant memory now. But back then...

I wish you well. I'm sure you'll love the time you get to spend with your children.

Hey Kel. I know how this is. I am now in my second year of homeschooling and so I know exactly what you are going through. First off I want to tell you to take a deep breath. Don't expect to do everything this year. You might start this Curriculum and find you and your children do not like it but guess what? It's ok. The first year is a learning experience for you as well as your children. Don't feel you have to do exactly what the set Curriculum tells you. You don't even have to do every subject everyday. They will learn. Will you make mistakes? Yes but that's ok I promise you will not scare your children. If you need to talk you can email me. I know you had it but here it is again just in case you don't have it now. Jsillygirl@hotmail.com . Just so you know this year I am doing things a little differently then we did our first year so this is all natural feelings!! ((HUGS))) oh and don't feel like you have to start when you initially planned. You can start any time you want to. Just remember the laws in your state if you have to have so many hrs or day's in but honestly there is no set day when you have to start (((HUGS)))

(((((HUGS))))) Kelli! It can be really overwhelming and I only homeschooled for pre-school,lol. I will be praying for you. Keep in mind that you don't have to do everything the curriculum tells you to do....that's the beauty of homeschooling. And I'm sure once you dive in head first, you'll do great!!

btw.....I'm back to blogging :-)
